Who will help me put on my wedding dress?

Putting on the wedding dress is a special moment - at the same time, it requires some organization and helping hands. As many wedding dresses cannot be put on alone, it is important to consider in advance who will help you on your wedding day.

Who can help?

  • Maid of honor or bridesmaid: The classic choice. She knows you well, is usually already there during the styling and can put you at ease.
  • Mother or sister: Many brides choose someone close to them to make this moment even more emotional.
  • Stylist or dressmaker: For more complex dresses, it can be useful to have a professional help you get dressed.

Tips for preparation

  • Practice at the fitting appointment: Take your assistant with you to an appointment at Leaf and Lace - that way she will learn how to close the dress properly.
  • Allow time: Allow at least 30-45 minutes to get dressed to avoid rushing.
  • Clean hands: Ask your helper not to have any cream, make-up or nail polish residue on her fingers.
  • Correct order: First underwear, tights and shoes, then the dress.

Emotion & meaning

Getting dressed is often a very emotional moment - allow yourself to relax and be together with the people who are particularly important to you. Many brides later remember these minutes as one of the best moments of the day.

Leaf and Lace recommendation

Choose your assistant carefully - she should be reliable, calm and familiar with you. We will be happy to show you what to look out for when putting on your dress during the final fitting.
