How do I transport my wedding dress correctly?

The big day is coming up - but how do you get your wedding dress to the wedding venue safely and without creasing? To make sure your dream dress looks perfect, you should prepare the transportation well. Here you can find out the most important tips for a stress-free journey with your dress.

The right packaging

  • Always use the high-quality garment bag provided by Leaf and Lace.
  • Breathable materials prevent moisture and dust.
  • Avoid tight folds to prevent creases.

Transportation in the car

  • If possible, hang the dress on the back seat or on a hook so that it hangs freely.
  • Do not put it in the trunk - it can be compressed there.
  • For long dresses: spread the fabric loosely over the seat.

Transportation on longer journeys

  • On the train: Hang the dress in the luggage area or place it carefully in a compartment.
  • On the plane: Take it with you as hand luggage and ask when boarding whether it can be hung up in a cupboard.
  • Never check in - luggage is pressed too hard.

Emergency tips for creases

  • Hang the dress in a well-ventilated room after arrival.
  • Small creases can often be smoothed out with steam from a shower.
  • Larger creases should only be smoothed out professionally by a tailor or dry cleaner.
